Who converted to the single plug wiper motor/harness?

    Who converted to the single plug wiper motor/harness?

    If so, any of you still have the directions?

    I believe this was a TSB by Ford because the one plug version was better than the two plug version.

      I'm interested in learning about this because this thread is the first I've heard of such a conversion! I don't think I've ever seen a Ford wipe motor without two plugs. What sort of things would be affected by swapping to this other motor you speak of?

        Nothing but splicing in the new harness. Motor bolts right into place.

          88+ I believe all had the single plug setup. Not sure what the advantage is. Probably cheaper to produce.

            I thought that as well but I got a copy of a 91 EVTM and the wiper still has two separate connections according to the diagram.


            One can look at rock auto and they will give you an option for a two plug or one plug...at least for my 87 they did.

              Hmm. I installed a new motor on a 91 and I could have sworn it was a single plug. maybe not.

                Possible that it could have been converted already, but its more likely a hit or miss type of deal. Some have it and some dont. I know when I ordered the wiper motor for my car they just sent me a single plug one. They didnt even ask what I had.

                Anyways...here is the EVTM



                has connections at 151 and 152.

                    Yeah I saw that one already through my searches. My dad said that ford started only selling the single plug type so I thought maybe others would have recent documentation regarding it.

                          You mean the ones that are so reliable they like to park vertically instead of horizontally? That's all I see on the newer panthers. Especially Towncars. My mom's '94 vic did it too. Couple of motors too and one was new!
