I just found this great diagram on doing the relay upgrade even though he labled the relay pins incorrect lol here is the correct layout:

    85 ground
    86 multi switch input
    30 starter solenoid
    87 headlights

It was for a 4 eyed fox body but it should be very similar i have not checked with my EVTM yet to see if they are in fact the same

This is using a 4 pin relay..i am just gonna use 5 pin relays because i have a whole stash of them

I also see some guys running circuit breakers between the battery/ solenoid and the relay. Is that required?

Using 5-pin relays also makes it easy to wire your fog lights so they go off with the high beams. The 'extra' output on a 5-pin relay is 'hot' when the relay is not triggered, and is switched off when the relay IS triggered (sends the juice over to the switched output). If you use this 5th pin-output from the high beam relay to provide power to the power input for the fog light relay, it will kill the fog lights when you hit the high beams. Also you can still turn the fogs on and off as you wish(when the high beams are off), because you can still have the fog light relay trigger wired to a switch.
Most folks don't care, but this is how fog lights are 'supposed' to be wired in a 4-headlight system, as 'required' by motor vehicle laws in some states.

Some people used 30 amp circuit breakers. Is that sufficient? And can I substitute the 30 amp breaker for a fuse?

                        Either one should be fine.

For the record the fancy black diagram i have pictured on the previous page has to correct color wiring. red/black for the low beam and light green/black for the high beams.

                              Hi 87gtVIC

Why are you using two relays when you only need one?

Pin 86 - From MFS low beam output
                              Pin 85 - Gournd
Pin 30 - 25 amp fused supply from battery
Pin 87 - To low beams
Pin 87a - To High beams

                              Regards
