You probably aren't getting a full 12 volts to your headlights, which is why they're so dim to begin with. If I were you, I'd start with a relay conversion to make sure you're getting full battery voltage to your headlights, and also as a safety precaution to prevent you from burning up your headlight switch. You'll be surprised at the difference.

I realize that. I'm just suggesting that you first do the relay upgrade before worrying about the HID conversion, and I think you'll be impressed with how much better the good old sealed beams work.

I relayed my lamps and it made a big difference. 2v improvement over the stock wiring. I've had the same headlights in the car since I bought it, and my high beams are original 1986 plastic lens Sylvania lamps. Personally I don't care for the light pattern or the look of those H4 conversion bulbs, but thats just me.86 Lincoln Town Car (Galactica).

I think i will do the relay upgrade. I have really nothing else that i can do to my car at the moment. Plus if the lights can get brighter, basically for free! (because i have tons of shit lying around to do this),why not?~David~

what exactly do you need to do this?Parts Car (Scrapped ) - Vicky - 1987 LTD Crown Victoria: 17x8 Gunmetal Gray Coys C-5 wheels, 235/55-17 Falken Ziex ZE-502 tires. 79 LTD Grille, Taillights, and Turn Signals, Blue LED Dash Lights, PI Rear Sway Bar, 140 MPH Speedometer, Dual Exhaust w/ Mustang Headers.

You can get a rough idea from this, but since it's for a European car, it only works with metric light. If you do the wiring exactly like in the diagram, the polarity will be wrong and the headlights will start putting out beams of dark rather than light. Proceed with caution.
Disclaimer for the automotive/electric nimrods out there: The above post is not to be taken seriously. The information in the link will work fine, there is no such thing as metric light, and if you can find a way to make a light bulb put out a beam of dark, I would suggest patenting the concept immediately and speaking with the Nobel Prize committee.

can you grow dope with your headlights?Give a man a fish and he will be fed for a day. Teach a man to fish and he will promptly forget that he once did not know, and proceed to call anyone who asks, a n00b and flame them on the boards for being stupid.

Everything to do with interior and body electrical including headlights and tail lights. CFI specific discussions and AC/heating systems.
Any questions? Talk to Tom.
Concerning HID conversions: It's not a great plan for putting HID in incandescent-style light-bulb housings, as they don't disperse the light as well as a housing designed for HID....but hey, got $1000 laying around?
