    HId headlights

I was thinking a set of these for the car (dont have to be the exact ones, but smothing close

I know you have to redo the wiring along with the headlight relay switch unless you want to barbecue some stuff, but how hard is it to do this. Could be tackled, say like on a saturday? or is it really involved?

Those are not HID's... and kelvin is a unit of temperature, not light.
You wont get much more out of those than a set of fancy sealed beams.

The kelvin number refers to the color. Higher numbers push you towards the blue end of the spectrum. 10k is pretty much white.

could you maybe give me a link or a part number? Not too thrilled about ordering headlights from amazon. It would be nice If I could just find the lenses without the bulbs, than just get the bulbs I want.

I still haven't seen any sealed beam conversion kits that come with real HID bulbs... if there is no ballast, its not HID.

Real HID is getting cheaper, but it looks like you still need to buy the H1/H4-to-HID conversion to use in the sealed beam-to-H1/H4 conversion housings... better make sure they are the glass/metal ones and not the plastic junk. I personally still wouldn't do it at all... put a high power conversion into aftermarket stuff that's not designed for it.
                No thanks...

I just looked it up... I didn't know there was a kelvin reference unit of color/temperature. I wonder what substance its supposed to be that's emitting this light at those temperatures...

yeah make sure the lenses are glass for sure , a friend has melted a headlight before, you allmost have to build your own conversion with an h4 headlight lenses and h.i.d kit. i've had my real h.i.d's for about a year and a half and i swear by them . i have them in all my cars and have installed them in a few of the guys car in my club too. but everyone like differant things

Thanks for the link on the lenses, I will most likely get them. Ill prolly hold off on the HID for a little bit, just get brighter headlights, I hate the stock bulbs (and the fact you have to replace the whole unit). Ill look more into the HID in the future months, but the H4 conversion will work for now.

I had some nice ones in my car. I guess they were cheap versions..plastic with an acrylic lens ad H4 bulb on a show car they look great but they cannot be used on a DD because they never sealed properly and the fogged up during all types of weather. My dad liked how hey looked on my car when i first installed them so he bough an entire set for himself. Now I have my entire set i took off of my car as a spare set for his show car Mustang. I guess it wasnt a total waste.

I have no idea if you will have condensation problems or not, i think it is hit or miss with the quality of these types of things. I tried even resealing mine...but still didnt help.
