    Funked up turn signal

For some reason, when I turn on the left hand turn signal on the Lincoln, the front turn signal will flash, but the rear will not. I've tried wiggling the wires, cleaned the socket, changed the bulb several times, all to no avail. If you leave the turn signal on for maybe more than a minute, suddenly the light will start flashing by itself. Also during the time it won't come on, the brake light on that side will not function either. The turn signal will continue to function until the next day, when the whole process starts over again. What the hell is going on here?

wonder if you have a sticky contact in the MF switch? I'm pretty sure there is a seperate contact for the front and rear blinker, and the rear one makes the switch from brake light circuit to flasher circuit.

Yes, there is a separate contact for front and rear blinker in the MF switch, because otherwise it would stop blinking on that side when you step on the brakes. Get yourself a J/Y MF switch and swap 'em out.

Turns out it's the rear socket after all. If I twist it just right the signal comes on. Guess I'll be looking for one of those.

Good thing too, our local yard doesn't have a single Panther in it, and a new MF costs about 95 bucks here locally.
