its sometimes marked with a letter S, yes its the small terminal. it actually stands for "start". The earlier relays and most replacements have 2 small posts, one marked S, one marked I for ignition. Some ignition systems feed power off the I terminal when the motor is cranking to bypass the ballast resistor. CFI cars use it too.
