    vacuum tree? sounds convenient. you said unused port, what are the rest used for? are there just a bunch of ports with vacuum for various purposes?

      what would be the best place to tap in and steal vacuum? best reading, etc
      The vacuum parking brake release line we plugged years ago. =-)

          cruise control, climate control, brake booster, parking brake release, maybe something else that I can't remember right now. There may not be an unused port, I just seem to remember a cap on one. Might be the removed parking brake release on my car though.

            Yes there is at least one unused port. When adding a line, be careful not to break the tree since it is plastic. And plastic doesn't like getting screwed with.

                Is that the hiss I hear sometimes after directional gear changes? Never when I'm shifting 1-D-OD but into or from park or reverse, I hear a slight hiss that lasts just a second.

                      My 96 Geo Metro had a green arrow pointing up, that helpfully lit up when it thought you should upshift, certainly the same as the gauge.

                      It wasn't very accurate.
