I live in Norther ND, and there are times in the winter when block heater seems to almost be a necessity. I noticed that there is no plug in on my car, so I'l like to install one. What should I go with?

dunno about the stock block heater, but I found this with a quick google search.

Should just have a little pump and a heating element that heats the coolant and shoves it through the sysem. Ray made a comment in another thread about this sort of thing normally plunbing into a radiator hose; my question is whether it could go into a heater hose.2012 Mazda5 Touring | Finally working on the LTD again!

From what I remember it it routes from a heater hose to the lower radiator hose some how. The one I have does not have directions.

It looks, from the parts there, that it would have to go into the heater hose somewhere, cause the radiator hose would be way to big for it. I can't think of anywhere to plumb that in.Originally posted by 85MercPark View Post

I think it just goes in the heater hose.
The freeze plug type will keep the whole motor warm, it is the same type used in the big trucks. Plug it in overnight and the motor will think it's June.89 CV LX 225/60 x 16 tires, CC819 rear springs, Front & rear sway bar, trans & PS cooler from 90 cop car. KYB shocks, F-150 on rear. Dual Exhaust w/ H pipe. Dark brown door panels, carpet, steering wheel, trim parts from a 87 Mer GM. Power front buckets from 96 Jeep Cherokee. LED'S front & rear. 3G Alt from a 97 Taurus wagon 3.0. Electric fan. Rear axle from a 97 PI 3.27 with disk brakes. Headlight relays.Comment
