    vac leak behind dash??

past few days ive been noticing a bit of a hissing noise behind the dash, on and off. sounds like a vac leak but im curious what vac lines would be in that area?

today i also noticed that if i jiggle the shifter around a bit it made the noise stop or atleast change a bit

    so whats up??

    thanks

It's probably the auto parking brake release. Find the line down by the parking brake lever, and plug it.

If you want to replace it I have a perfectly working one I might be willing to part with.

the auto brake release fnction actually still works fine, tested it today. didnt have the chance to get under there though. could it be a hose came undone or cracked

Mine worked fine too, but it still leaked. Capped the line and no more hissing.

yeah mine worked, but leaked badly. Capped the line off to fix it permanantly on mine as well. The Mark VIi has a bad one too. It will release the brake, but it hisses annoyingly.
