I don't get you people who enjoy sweating while driving. I sweat my ass off at work. I want to enjoy climate controlled goodness when I drive, not a wet shirt and stinky velour seats when I get out of the car. If these things had wing vents and crotch coolers it would be tolerable but without that, you just suffer driving around town. Besides, all that air noise is bad for your ears.

haha it doesn't top 75 to much (and not to smoggy and humid) close to lake huron here in this part of ontario so i'm lucky. I love hangin my arm out the window and cruisin in my merc listening to the rumble of that pair of pipes...but theirs some days for sure i wish i could get a little A/C goin but can't have er all i guess haha. It was also -15 celcuis a month ago when i was ripping it all out lol.
but if it helps an,y it was my compressor that ended up goin for a crap on my A/C and eventually did a burnout under my hood with the rubber seal. I have seen these things have pretty good A/C setups so hopefully nothin to big and good luck with it.
Finally have an on the books porting/custom fab business!

Compressors are easy to replace. I replaced the used noisy one on my car. It hadn't blown up, but it sounded like hell. All new AC parts on the car, less than 300 bucks all told into it, and the air is nice and cold. I also replaced the compressor on the S10, and I think the one on the Mark VII may have been replaced as well. I know the Mark has all new lines on it when the AC was rebuilt a few years ago. That thing has great AC, especially for an R134 conversion on an all black car.

if its the clutch bearing, you can replace that seperate from the compressor. That one only makes noise with the AC off. If its loud with the AC on, its the compressor itself.

Makes noise when AC is on. And when it's off if I put my hand on the compressor, I can feel it grinding.
