    a/c and smog pump belt

where would i find the part numbers for the belt required for my 84 mgmq with a/c but no smog pump? does anyone have the part number?

also, if completely flushing the a/c system, do you recommend i use ester oil or PAG? and how much does the complete system require?

    thanks

500K6 is the belt you need. For the compressors we use ester, 8oz should be enough.

500K6 also translates to K060500. Just so you have a little more ammo when going to the parts store. Unfortunately, alot of parts stores are run by idiots who don't know a serpentine belt from a screwdriver.

560 k6 is the correct belt.

What Scott said. I just recently bought myself a 560K6 for the A/C side on my 302. Might consider a 565 if you need a little more wiggle room, if one is available (on my car right now, I have to remove the idler pulley entirely to get the belt off, but then, the belt probably isn't yet completely broken in). The one I used with the 351 was a 600K6 if I'm not mistaken.

500K6 is for the alternator belt, though sometimes you need a 495 or 505 for some reason.

Mike, removing the idle completely is normal for these cars, the only time you may no have to do it is you're taking off an old and very stretched belt... or I guess if you have a 565-series belt.

I've always had to pull the lower bolt out of the idler. The top one can stay on, but the lower usually comes out to swing it totally out of the way.
