Few q's on my new 88.

Hey whats up guys. I just got this 88 marquis LS and have 2 questions.

1. Both heat and a/c blow but only reg air. Common problems?

2. I'll be getting a new head unit. I think I have the premium sound package on the car. Would a new head unit and a small sub/amp combo sound decent or are the stock speakers total crap?

I just got back from taking the car for a night time spin and I noticed that the inside lights and key holes light up if you pull on the handle! I was pleasantly surprised.

So the question is, I like the bright lights as a theft deterrent but I don't want it every time I get into the car. Can I rig up the door lights to just the door handles and rig up the open doors sensor to the foot well lights?

Okay so for the heat I should first check coolant level and replace the thermostat.

stock speakers are decent as long as the sun didnt get to them or they arent blown.
no heat or cold......make sure the heater core is hooked up.......does the ac compressor come on when you turn the ac or defrost on?

Okay, I think I'll install a new head unit and go from there.

How do I make sure the heater core is hooked up? What does the ac compressor turning on look like?

I fired up the car today and noticed the radiator fan turned on right away and I think stayed on. Is that a sign of a bad thermostat?

Also, the coolant cap seems to be missing. The coolant over flow is right next to the windshield wiper fluid thing right? The coolant level was around 4-5 inches under the full line. How bad is that?
