Someone might want to make this a sticky....
As I'm sure you have seen by now, Tom, our fearless leader, has a set of stylish Hella replacement headlights in project P79, and also has an extra set for GMGT....whenever he gets it finished.
The low-beam conversion lamps are a new release from Hella, and to be short, they kick ass. It's the pinnacle of basic filament bulb technology up to this point, as the reflector is a new type, free-form, which uses hundreds of tiny reflectors, instead of one basic mirror....or whatever they say about it. At any rate, they are available, after having everyone here lust after them for almost a year, I'm going to make public the part numbers, and at least one location as to where to order them from.
Here is the part number for the new low-beam housing: 008888101
They come with a standard 55w/60w lo-hi bulb, but you can install any other H4 bulb in place of the original, since these are H4 housings.
The page to see it on is here: http://cat.hella.com/hella232/jsp/se...sp?nologin=yes
NOTE: YOU WILL HAVE TO ENTER THE PART NUMBER INTO THE SEARCH BAR!!!!
So far as the high-beams are concerned....they are the traditional H1 highbeams that Hella has been selling for years: 003177871....but for some reason, at the time this was typed in, the number isn't working with my source, so I'm going to have to do some more research.
Where to get them? Check your local parts stores, or get them from here: Instrument Sales and Service, 1-800-333-7976, and ask for retail sales.
Current pricing for the lowbeam housings is currently at $57.58 each....however, I might be able to knock off some of that if you PM me first, as I can still get them at a cheaper rate, but as I said, PM me first.
One other technical note: You will not be able to run the H4 bulbs with the stock plug harness. You will have to change a couple of pins around to run H4 bulbs, otherwise the headlights won't work properly, lol. I think someone else here has the new pin locations....and I hope they add the correct locations later.
