    A vaccum leak under the dash

    Hey guys. The 86 Crown Vic I gots has a vaccum leak when you put in Drive or Overdrive. I can here it coming from under the dash like under the AC controls. I havent looked into it yet. I'm going to this evening. I didnt know if any of yall could tell me of where it's at. Thanks guys

    Does it have automatic climate control?

      I don't think it does. LOL. It would say it if it did right? I think my ol 84 Merc did. Can't remember.

        Its the auto parking brake release. White half-moon shaped thing on the top side of the steering column tube, right against the firewall. Pull and plug the vacuum line, or replace the release switch.

              Its because I own a bomb, and damn near everything was wrong with it. Trust me, you don't come by this knowlege unless you have to lol.

                LOL. Yeah. That was the problem by the way. What was the main purpose of that thing anyways? It made no difference blocking it off except it stoped that sucking sound which was nice. LOL

                  releases the parking brake automatically when you put the car into a forward gear. I like it.

                    Its so Aunt Matilda doesn't burn up her rear brake shoes all the time. If you're like me and never use the parking brake, its useless.
