Right now I have three batteries that I really think of usable: a Die Hard Truck/SUV battery, a Interstate of some sort, and a Duralast that came with the Vic. The Die Hard cost $100 and had to be replaced under warranty after a pathetically short period of time, plus the idiots at Sears gave me hell about my warranty information and then wasted a bunch of my time by failing to inform me that they were testing someone else's battery before mine on their special "Die Hard Test" that takes like an hour to complete ... see if I buy another Die Hard in the future. The Interstate I just picked up at a random tire shop that happened to be within walking distance when a 4 or 5 year old Motorcraft I'd paid $85 for called it quits in a parking lot (holding voltage but not pushing current, go figure). For about $75, this ugly green thing seems to be performing pretty well. The Duralast was also working fine when I removed it in favor of one of the more expensive batteries; I plan on sending it to my mom in the '81 LTD when I send it down there, if only because that's the only brand she'll have any clue what to do with if something goes funky (i.e. drive to AutoZone and ask for help!).
I also have two tiny-bodied batteries that I keep around just sort of backups: an Everstart that came with the '81 LTD, and a generic dual-terminal battery that came with the '79 LTD that I left down at my mom's for her to have available for a spare even though she refuses to do something like attempt to change a battery at home.2012 Mazda5 Touring | Finally working on the LTD again!

been using a deka marine/rv battery from work for the past 2 years.Give a man a fish and he will be fed for a day. Teach a man to fish and he will promptly forget that he once did not know, and proceed to call anyone who asks, a n00b and flame them on the boards for being stupid.

I am using Duralast batteries right now. I am not really happy with it. It does not hold up well in the winter at all and the battery is practically brand new. I believe it is a bit to small to turn my car over. I will be upgrading to a gold topped Duralast before this winter.~David~

the starter is only two years old. But that is a damn nice price
Its funny, i leave the car alone for two days in the dead of winter and the battery just cant handle it. But in the warmer weather it is fine.~David~

Duralast in the truck, been there since around New Year, 2006. It was the closest store to me when the battery took a shit after having the trans done. I have never jumped the truck or had it fail to start since installing that thing, so I have no complaints about it.
Neverstart in the Towncar, another case of Walmart being open when my battery took a crap.
some "Best" brand thing I've never heard of in the Mark VII. Was in there when I got it, will stay till it dies.
Only battery I've had bad luck with was an AC Delco battery in my Towncar. It went dead regularly even shortly after initial purchase. Battery tested OK, so I couldn't do anything about it. 15-20 minutes with the door open and the interior lights on was enough to kill it to the point the car would not start. I couldn't vacuum the thing at the car wash because it was a crapshoot if it was gonna start to get me home.
Next time I'm due for batteries, it may be Interstate or Motorcraft. Both seem to hold up very well.86 Lincoln Town Car (Galactica).
