wire color code request...

for a 1981 am/fm/cassette knob tunner player that has the push button station presets. i need all the speaker wire clors and power colors. i need this info to compare with my info so i dont screw up my new deck install.

ok, i took the radio out to see what wires are hiding and this is what i found...
power supply
blue with purple
yellow with black
speaker
pink with blue
white with green
pink with green
orange with green
black with white

the speaker wires are the same as the 85 colony park, and when i installed the deck on it, the front speackers never worked, theres somethin fishy about the negative speaker wires, shouldent there be 8 instaed of 5 wires?

ah ha!!! you have seen exactly why I suggest wiring all the speakers yourself.
You are right, there SHOULD be 8, but for some reason, Ford decided that all the speakers should share a ground this makes for the 5 wires you see.
So run new wire! I forgot to look at aldata agin :coocoo:

Yeah, all the factory stereos in our cars are going to have a shared ground. Only newer models have seprate ground wires. So there is no getting around it, you will have to run your own wires. I'f you want to save a little cost, you can use the existing + speakers wires and just run the ground wires, but my suggestions is to run newer and better wires all the way. That way you can rull out any dry cracking wire insulation. It don't take much time at all once you get to it.

I did all the install, wiring, and setup of all of my audio system, it's really just a step by step thing. And it's the cleanist signal I've heared yet. I'f you're running an amp, and are using the pre-amp RCA outputs from the reciever, ONLY USE SHIELDED RCA WIRES! Most everyone knows this, but just in case, so you don't waste any money or time. Pre amp outs are very lower power level, and therefore are very sensitive to ground current interference.

i jus got a new pioneer premeir DEH-470MP cuz i returned the tape deck cuz of a missin part so i put the cd player in and wired everything up and its perfect, i put all the negative together and hooked each wire up, the question is why in the wagon, the front speakers dont work, lol, but thanks anyways.
