Car alarm/auto starters installation

Hello all,


I need an alarm system...I was warned not to go to Best Buy...or Circuit City (which I hate anyways). Where have you, or someone you know, gone to get your alarm/auto starter installed in your car? I live in DC, and I'm willing to go to any local (MD/VA) shops, people outside of DC/MD/VA, I'm sure you guys have different shops then we do, all help is greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!!!

Welcome to GMN. I would check around and see if there are any local shops that just do alarm/car audio installs. Best Buy/Circuit City Places I'm wary of, some installers might be good but I don't think they focus mainly alarms, and might do a hack job. You can also ask friends or even do some online research to check out places by you and what people are saying about them. I took mine to a place called Zippos which is a certified dealer and installer for Directed Electronics. I don't know if you've heard of them or they are any by you but I've always had good luck with them. Finally, make sure you buy a decent alarm. I would only recommend something by Directed Electronics (I.E. Clifford, Viper, Python, Avital, ect ect.), they make excellent systems. Just go to the website http://www.directed.com/ and select a brand and research away.
