    Interior Lights stay on.

Hi, my '88 CP's interior lights came on this evening when I opened the door, but did not go off when the door was shut .They stayed on in spite of jiggling the press switches on the door frames and the headlight control knob. Stayed on with ignition off and key out. Finally had to disconnect the battery. Everything else (exterior lights and Dash lighting) is working OK.Never happened before, What should I do to troubleshoot ? Thanks

I would say replace the door switch.

Do you have the auto lamp system that keeps the interior lights on for a period of time after you close the door? Could be the setting for that, or maybe the relay got stuck.

Yes, you are right. The knob of the auto lamp switch somehow seemed to have got turned all the way to the left and that kept the lights on. Fixed it with a twist to the right. Feeling pretty silly now. Thanks.

no problem, rather it be something simple than an electrical gremlin that needs chasing.
