my 84 vic had a switch under the dash in a giant ball of wiring.......had the car ready for inspection, had to rewire some stuff so the gauge lights worked and i must have bumped the switch........off for inspection i went, when he checked the lights, the were wig waging..........luckilly he had experience with old cop cars and we found the toggle switch under the dash......when it was taken out of service, the switch was simply removed from the panel and tucked under the dash

ok , i have a possible idea, turn all your lights off. now, have someone stand behind the car. step on your brakes. do they come on? if so, flip the switch, do they still come on?
i ask because i know a lot of current cars have a switch on the dash for blackout conditions. they can turn all the lights off at the headlight switch, but the brakes would still come on, so they put a switch on the brake and possibly the reverse light wire as well (double pole single throw i think is what those ones are, one switch for two apps on seperate wires) so that they can operate in complete darkness.
just a thought.........cause i'm installing one of those switches myself....heheheeehe

Sounds plausible I suppose....Anyways, the OFF section is in the center it seems, because if you flip the switch forwards/backwards the little red lights come on....oh well, its a neon ON/OFF switch nowsigpic1991 Crown Vic 351w 5.8L
