    wiring harness installation

I am looking at swapping an interior from a 97 Gm Ls to a 96 Gm Gs. The 97 is loaded with options and the 96 is plain. Is the wiring harness different between the two or is it just the modules and switches added into the system. My wife wants her digital dash and keyless entry from her 97.

I think they usually use the same harnesses for all vehicles and for a car with less options those plugs are simply unused. I am not certain though..

I think I'll bite the bullet and try it.

96 GM is only $500 It would be the cheapest way to replace the 97, not to metion the extra parts.

what options exactly? keyless entry probably has an additional harness you'd need to install, but most of the rest ought to be there. Power passenger seat usually has a plug already under the carpet. Most of the rest is similar. Not sure about autolamps, probably also requires an additional harness for the sensor and relays.

Dual power seats, auto temp control, digital dash, keyless entry, auto dim rearview mirror, rear maplights, questionable on the rear air ride.

seats are simple, rear maps should be easy enough, the rest, well, all I will say, make sure you have an EVTM for that car. You will need it.
