Fuel Gauge Wire

Need some help on finding the wire that runs to the fuel gauge, as mine has been torn up for the last 3 months, if you turn the starter switch to the ACC. it moves about the width of the hand an stays there, but if you start the car it falls WAY below the E, idk, need help nonetheless....thanks all

I think its a '90-'91 thing, they don't seat below E after you shut it off...if I remember, my '90 stayed on a 1/4 or so tank mark, then went up when u start it.

so u may just have a sunk float.
