    Removing the Cat's from a CFI 302?

Does anyone know if there would be any problems if i replaced the cats on our 1985 CV with TT pipes..? One of the AIR pipes is leaking and i need to replace the gaskets anyway so is it worth swapping out hte cats at the same time?

Cats arent a requirement over here until 1992!

It won't be a problem, mang, just remove all the emissions crap.

I can show you how it's done

removing the air pump and such like too? im not sure if we want to go down that route just yet as under the bonnet its totally unmolested (aside from the wiring conversion for the lighting etc.)

but have founda few more bits this lunchtime (and i forgot my camera lead so that will have to wait until i get home for the pics.)

and ant powder is on the shopping list!

Well you can keep the a/c and remove the air pump...

But those solenoids and junk on the pass side fender? They can go away when you remove the cats, as well as blocking off the tubes on the back of the heads, etc...

I did not know that. Convenient!

Just get a set of stock Mustang headers and a 2.25" aftermarket Mustang H-pipe if you can find one, and tie that into your stock 2" dual exhaust. That should work nicely for your stock motor.

Nice ... so you won't be having to hack it like most of us do the first few times. I don't suppose you do TIG welding?

You should fab you up an entire 2.5" dual exhaust with h-pipe...

Need me to import you some good quality mufflers, for a lot cheaper than you can get em here?

                            Hi Festerfly

Due to the technicalities of our emissions test American cars actually do not need a catalyst until August '95

One other point catalysts are not a requirement on any vehicle the only requirement is that they pass the relevant emissions test, practically speaking though a car will not quite pass the test without one.

Cheers for the offer GMGT. We have Cherry bombs, Daytonas, Arvin, IPC and others in stock and can get flowmasters over in a few days if required!

                              thanks though.
