    Backup Sensor

    Dear Panthers.
I am considering installing a backup sensor on the Boulevard Cruiser. Price range between 20$ and $220, depending on the display size and detail and if it is wireless. The cheapies are wired/w/o display.

If anyone has experience with these gizmos I'd be grateful to hear.

Do you really need a display tho? Like, for example, for my car I'd like to get something that starts beeping when object is like 1.5 ft away from it, my spare tires ends right about 14" behind my bumper so that leaves 4" of clearance between our cars. which is about as much as I can afford if I wanna have the Townie not sticking out of the parking spot.

      Dear Panthers,
Since I use the cruiser on interstates and rural pastures I rarely parallel park. Wasn't even thinking about parking, I was concerned about how much space I need to open the tailgate to let the dogs out at my motel and not backing over loose dogs at the trial field. The alert would work for the loose dogs but a display showing 6 or 8 feet behind the wagon would be useful judging whether I've enough room to swing open the tailgate.

A related problem. I open and close the tailgate more often than any door except the driver's door. Colony Park tailgate hinges aren't built for that kind of use. I never use the tailgate party position and am thinking that maybe one day I'll weld some heavy duty hinges to replace the intricate flimsy two-way hinges.
