    Mystery Underdash Connectors

    While wiring the tripminder today in the '88 and crawling up under the dash I found the following wiring not hooked to anything. None of the plugs are mates.

    What are all these plugs supposed to be connected to? Could this explain my ATC problems (heat all the time)? Could they be for power assessories I don't have (I don't have power mirrors or locks or seats or trunk release [wagon])?

    They're for the rare "flux capacitor" option...

      See if the wiring is rated for 1.21 jigawatts...

          cant tell the colors from the pics but try this page bro,... not to mention that the flux capacitor was not an available option till '92 and it was only available then on the escort, and the delorean

            The blue harness in the first pic looks kind of like the one of the harnesses that plugs into the back of the heater controlls (blue, 4 or 5 wires, and in that vicinity). The gray harness in the first pic looks like one for a gas tank popper thing. In the third pic that harness with the big yellow wire looks like the one for the rear defroster. Not completely sure on any of these, but i would look into finding a spot for that blue harness on the heater controlls.

              ditto on the big yellow wires. They look the same size as the ones coming off the starter solenoid... I bet the one hooked up goes to the fuse panel, and the one not hooked up is for an unused option like nasty said.
              That one might be a great power source for a CB or something else that could use a 10guage wire

                You're right, I forgot about the 92 FluxScort, mean little machine that was...

                  It does have ATC and a rear defroster, but no premium sound.

                  I'll check behind the climate control panel to see if everything is plugged in. That is one area I didn't look too close into.
