I found a mystery switch under my dash. I cant seem to figure out what it is. Any advice is appreciated.

That's a universal switch you can buy and wire into anything, so you'll need to follow the wires and tell us what they go to. However, some ideas that it could be:- Enable/disable remote start, if someone added one to the car
- Interrupt the ignition or start circuit to act as a "kill switch" to make it more complicated to steal the car
- Turn on some aftermarket accessory like fog lights, underglow, or extra interior lighting that someone may have added to the car

Any evidence of a remote starter or alarm system which is either abandoned or has been removed? Pretty typical to find a bunch of cut wires taped up near the ignition switch, when one has been there before and since removed.
If it were me I'd probably ignore it before I went to the trouble of pulling the dash, but that's me. If you do want to go that way, it would probably be wise to replace the heater core (so have a new one on-hand), as well as have hardware on-hand for repairing the blend door hinges, before starting that project.
Another thought: it could be for an aftermarket power antenna.Comment

With the hidden and awkward angle, it wasn't meant for ease of use. So probably not fog lights or anything. I'd say a kill switch, or equivalent. My bet is that it interrupts the neutral safety switch circuit. Easy enough to test though, does it start in both positions?

It starts in both positions. I found an old siren under the hood and it may be the answer. Weird though, its a country squire.Comment
