    Belt Alignment with 3G

I am seeing a slight misalignment of the belt since I did the 3G swap. The belt is not too happy riding like this and explains that slight burning rubber smell under the hood from time to time. I used a Taurus donor.
The alternator is too far back and the belt pushes to the front. I maxed out the adjustment bracket at the intake to push the alternator bracket as far forward as possible. Still having the issue. Maybe I can put a shim under the pulley?
    Anyone else have this issue?

Put a washer between the alternator bracket and the brace or bend the bracket a little. Looks like it has a slight bend in it at the brace point pushing the top of the alternator back.

No spacer should be needed. Mine is running a 2G pulley and actually looks to be even closer to the alternator body than yours is. Mine also appears to track towards the front edge of the pulley but the belt shows no signs of concern and its never made any burning smells. I had all that off recently and the belt was perfectly fine.

Are you sure its not the PS pump sitting funny? Not sure how it could unless a bolt was loose though. The lower alternator bracket is common to the PS pump so both would be right or wrong if thats not sitting correctly. Kinda looks like the inside of the belt is wearing more than the outside anyway just based on what appears to be the engine side sitting deeper in the water pump and PS pullies.
