where does this go? Only place I can think of which takes this kind of bulb is the lighter sockets. If thats the case and you actually use that lighter I don't think I would put an LED in that location.86 Lincoln Town Car (Galactica).

Ah... the finger burner up near the brake release lever? I remember the Mark VI used the bayonets in that spot instead of wedge bulbs like later cars. I can't find for sure what size bulb goes there.

Towncars use a bayonet base up there but the base is the size of a brake light bulb. Bulb itself is smaller though. This looks much smaller, like the cig lighter bulbs but I'm missing some scale here.
anyway if its the size of the brake light base, you need an LED sub for an 1156 lamp. Thats the single contact type. I swapped those in the Towncar and the Conti years ago, better light output, no more burned hands. Works in the trunk and hood light too. I think Ford/Merc stuff typically used a wedge bulb there.86 Lincoln Town Car (Galactica).

If that's the case, then it's a BA15S bayonet base... Lots of small bulbs to fit that. 67 seems to be the correct number for that location though. 8W incandescent. So looking for a 12V BA15S 67 LED will probably get you a lot of options.
