Heater Core replacement - 84GM

:chainsaw: What's the key to pulling the plenum out from under the dash panel?

I've followed the 84GM service manual (and anything else I can find) to disconnect the plenum. But, you can't simply pull it back and rotate it out from under the dash as far as my experience goes. The bump on the plenum unit for channeling the air up to the defroster vents hits the horizontal base support for the panel to the left of the glove box area and can't be rotated around to fit underneath any which way. :cuss:

Any ideas on this???

I think most folks pull back the whole dash to do this - you might try that if you didnt.

I need to research this myself - Im getting the sweet up my nose when I cut on the defrost
