2G alternator wiring repair (and aero-airbox install)

This is how I did the ground in the 85:

theres a bolt in the frame holding a bracket for the starter cable - I put the end of the new battery cable there, and ran an short cable from there to an unused bolt on the head.

The battery to body is just that small wire coming from the Neg terminal right? Do you think someone replaced those cables on your car before you owned it and went the cheap route. I see that some places sell like Rockauto sell sets with or without that wire. JC Whitney has terminal extensions so you can just go that route and add a ground the stock cables or the higher gauge ones if you upgraded or made your own.

the small wire on the negative terminal is for the ECM... newer boxes have 10ish gauge wire going fron the neg. terminal to the radiator support or fender... they all should have one going from a rear head bolt to a fender at the rear of the engine bay

Mine had the factory ends on it when I got the car, no wire to the rad support like every other 86 I've seen. No idea why not. It does have the tail for the ECM ground, but thats it.
