a ray of tripminder hope

this guy on the other site says there is wiring behind the dash for the tripominder. theres 2 plugs, one that goes to the clock and the other connector on non tripminder equipped cars is hiding behind the dash. hes just has to get pics developed and uploaded

this means that i can throw one in teh merk no problem assuming its true, we'll just wait for pics

If need be, I can scan the page out of the EVTM that lists where all the wires go. THere are only 2 or 3 you have to hook up in addition to the standard ones for the clock.

I tried to find some extra wiring back at the clock hole, I didnt find any!! :cuss:

i can still pull some, i just couldnt wind the wireing for one (if its there) to test it with.

according to my 84 evtm, there are connectors behind the dash, but fwik you have to take off the dash pad to see them. i' can check on my old merc before it goes away.

hhhmmm... I felt along the harness that had the clock wiring in it as much as my hand would reach and didnt feel anything - so if its there its buried somewhere.
My vic is has dealer-added power windows and door locks... maybe mine was a base model and it wasnt an option??
Let me know if you find connections in yours, and is your 84 a base model or does it have all the fancy options?? I didnt want to dig too far into my dash just yet... lol

the evtm is for an 84, the 89 mercury is teh guniea pig

so far, all i've succeeded in doing is destroying the dash and the speedo

christine which is an 84 already had teh tripminder, and just about every option,lol. unfortunately the evtm did not show what the plugs looked like, the fuckers :guns:

i didnt pull any yet... the yard i just went to USED to have some boxes with them :cuss:

the yard here still should... as long as they dont decide to clean house too :laser:
