    83 Grand Marquis stalling

Hey guys I need some help as I am not too familiar with CFI. I have a 83 Grand Marquis 5.0 CFI the car will run fine as long as I keep my foot on the gas as soon as I remove it the car will die. Any help is appreciated.

There are any number of possible causes.

    Are there any other symptoms?

How about hot/cold? Does it make a difference?

Is the idle adjustable on these CFI cars?

Maybe you could just bump up the dash pot just a tad, its the round thing with a spring on the end right in front of your throttle linkage.

yes you can adjust the idle with that gizmo you will find under the throttle lever.
You have to loosen one bolt to free the "slide" the device is mounted on, and turn another to adjust the idle just like on a carb.

I vote for bumping the idle too. Hey Pete, you have a pic of the part to adjust?

Does the 83 CFI have the TFI module? Could be that.

Here's a pic of the dashpot. It's on a VV carb, but it's the same thing in the same place on a CFI car.
