They are pretty much swappable, right? I want to pull the VB with shift kit out of the old 87 trans and put it in my spare trans out of my 89 sedan...

Yes they are. There are only minor differences, but they are all interchangable to my knowledgs. I have whitnessed some of the differeces in the VB between the PI shift patter and the stock shit patter. But if you keep the VB all together it's not a problem.

All my transmissions have the same pattern...All I plan on doing is taking the VB apart and cleaning it. The trans it came out of had a pretty catastrohpic failure....but the wasted trans has the shift kit, A servo, and HO governor. (all of which I will be swapping)Builder/Owner of Badass Panther Wagons
