Was it a loosely tensioned belt?

Bellhousing bolts loose? Loose flywheel bolts are too obvious, but I'll throw that out there too. If you really feel the need to go bastard block, I have the computer for it.

If that was the case, the knocking would not be intermittent, and he would be leaking oil...

Well I'm 99% sure of what it was. The IAT on this car was relocated into the top of the air box due to the explorer intakes. It was held in by a big washer, and a c-clip that somewhat screwed over the threads of the IAT.

Ya, that c-clip, no longer exist.

drill and tap the intake for proper sensor readings! Still why was there a c clip anyway?

Idk, ask Eric; I didn't build the engine. It was fine the 10k I've owned it.

None the less that poor c-clip has been obliterated my now.

i dont always do what the book tells me but my performance book says that sensor is supposed to be in the manifold, it also has somethign to do with what the computer does too.
