I pulled off the pans of both transmissions while doing the swap. As i was cleaning up after the massive trans fluid spill i noticed something. On the old transmission next to the valve body there is a plate with a tube coming from it. On the new/used transmission its not there. Any insight to what it is?

I'm always reading of this or that weird year-to-year difference in AODs, don't suppose this could be one of them? The '87 transmission I was messing with recently looks like that, but with less of the big tubey thing sticking out.2012 Mazda5 Touring | Finally working on the LTD again!

What years are they? There was a valve body update/recall in 89 to make em shift better.1989 Grand Marquis LS

zoomie might know.... alan at dirtydog performance told me that was a 3-4 accumulator.
My 1990 does not have it; just an empty bore!
My something-else does.
....so, if the 1990 moved it into the valve body, would I have issues if I installed a 1990 valve body into this other AOD?Comment
