How does the shift pattern work on a manual AOD valvebody? Since, you know, there are four forward speeds and only three shifter positions.

Solenoid-actuated OD would make sense to me, since it could be done with the stock shifter. Unless there's a way to adapt a General Motors column shifter or something ..... (me likey column shift)2012 Mazda5 Touring | Finally working on the LTD again!

I take it that with a manual valve body... there's no point in having a shift kit?
And since Colin is getting a new valve body, is it really that important to get a shift kit too?1984 Ford Crown Vic LTD, The Murphmobile (RIP)
