    "Ride engineered"

Does this mean my 87 Grand Marquis LS has an airbag suspension or just that it went through extensive engineering to have a smooth, soft ride? What were the features my suspension that makes it different from a standard sedan, wagon, or coupe?
Current rides - 1991 Ford Thunderbird 3.8 v6 (gas saver/DD) - New Heads/Headgaskets with ARP studs, Air Silencer Delete, 70mm MAF, Plasti-dipped Matte Black with a Silver Metalflake Overlay, Muffler Delete, some LED's, 30.233 MPG for high MPG average!
2006 Jeep Wrangler 4WD (fun vehicle/backup DD) - 4.0/6spd - too many mods to list.

    Associated Panthers:
    Father's 1994 Ford Crown Victoria - Stock, 45,000 miles.
Sold in 2007 - 1987 Mercury Grand Marquis LS "Grandpa Special" 2 door.

probably nothing... it might have gotten a bigger sway bar, different shocks. Does it have air ride suspention?

All Grand Marquis' have that on the dash from '79-'87. It even goes back to the '70s I believe. Just means they're engineered for a great ride me thinks.

Said engineering involves no real changes from the Ford or Town Car either. My friend's Skylark features "DynaRide". Marketing slogans are great.

Back to the answer, no panther got fully qualified air suspension till the 90s. The 1990 and newer Town Car had it, and its optional on newer Vic and GM. 80s Townies had an optional auto-level air shock system in the back. Not sure if that was ever an option on the GM but I doubt it.

Were they auto-level with a compressor or did it just have a fitting like aftermarket ones?

They have a pump or whatever up next to the motor, with a valve like a stem on a wheel.

Gadget, the CV/MGM system is full auto, same as ours.
