I would nto recommend lowering it more than about an inch. If you go lower it can throw off your suspension geometry causing rapid wear on a lot of different parts. To lower the front you can just cut your springs, 1 full coil is about 1". the rear cannot be cut, you will have to have new springs if you decide to lower it. If you want to raise the rear get some wagon cargo coils.http://secondhandracing.com/Home.aspx

All four shocks, and the rear coils, a total of 3.5 hours. And that was with moving slow, taking pictures, several smoke breaks, and a couple of cocktails.
Rear shocks were once again a piece of cake. (and the front ones too). The only problem I had was with the rear coils. Someone mentioned that you unbolt the shocks, lower the rear, and the coils fall out. Well, that just is not true. Maybe my bushings are too good, but the rear only lowered so far. I had to use a pry pole to lower the rear axle enough to get the coils out. Once I figured that out, it was a piece of cake.
And a big difference it makes. Much tighter rear end now. My rear coils were really worn out.1987 Country Squire LX Wagon 5.0L: Daily Ride......1964 Lincoln Continental 430ci: Toy #1.

Jacking up the opposite side of the rear axle that you are working on will help drop the side you are working on down. I've done rears in an hour or less. They are easy.Builder/Owner of Badass Panther Wagons
