    Upgraded suspension?

I am looking to freshen up the suspension on the 86 Crown Vic.

I think it's sagging, that's all stock. I know the front swaybar bushings are coming apart. I was looking into replacing them, is there any preferred upgrades? Trying not to end up buying twice so if I want to get a new swaybar I want to get that first. Unfortunately I am not finding anything in the local junkyards and the adco is expensive and 3 months out on estimated ship date. I am debating on replacing control arm bushings all around as well. stock or upgraded?

What about shocks/struts and springs? Is there stock or slightly lower? If the height right now is lower than stock I don't mind it, any lower and I will drag ass on parking lots heh.

Worth it to just replace balljoints while I am in that far anyway?

Can help on the coil springs and shocks!

Moog heavy duty straight rate coils:

For shocks I run KYB monotube gas-a-justs:

For rear swaybar I'd just swap in a complete aero ('92-95 or so) rear end and run the Addco 650 bar. Comes with poly bushings & end links. You'll also gain a slightly wider rear track, and disc brakes.

may have the answers you seek

if you're replacing springs, replace the ball joints and control arm bushings.

It's a good thread. I was hoping for some ideas, like if it does look like it's sagging, if 1" lower would be similar, etc. If the performance bushings are worth the cost over AutoZone stock replacements, etc. I will do more research though because swapping the whole rear end is tempting to pick up disk brakes and sway bar and wider track for not needing spacers to run newer rims.

newer rear sway bars mount differently than box ones do. They use an endlink up to the frame. I don't think the box has that mount point, but it can probably be added. Box bars bolt to the lower control arms. Easy, but the bars are not exactly common anymore.

The box has brackets on the frame that can be used to attach an aero bar, does require some custom endlinks tho. That's how Hearsesrock427's was done, it involved the one side of IIRC aero or whale front endlinks with straight extensions welded onto them - the ball/socket end of the contraption gets bolted to the frame, the extensions receive your standard "puck" bushings and bolt thru the aero rear bar ends.
