Just wondering if there was any difference/benefit with the Police package power steering pump vs the normal vic Pump. Mine has a slight leak...of course its a Ford PS pump lol....but oddly enough my local CarQuest has like 10 Police package ones in stock and none of the normal ones.

Should mount up the same, it may have a different pressure regulator spring in there for a little less boost. If anything, you may have a slightly heavier wheel feel. The actual steering gear is the same, so any differences can't be all that significant.
See if they have the pulley remover for rent too. You'll need it, and the shitty one you can buy in the store is horrible.
I'd consider changing the lines while you're at it if they are old or hard. The return line especially tends to get petrified and leaky.86 Lincoln Town Car (Galactica).

yeah, they have different pressure and flow numbers though. Takes about 30 seconds to swap the regulator over though. Pump itself is identical, its just the screw-in bit where the hose is that makes them different in performance.86 Lincoln Town Car (Galactica).

Ok cool thanks guys, I could actually use a slightly heavier feel as my grant steering wheel and is smaller diameter makes it a bit light.

The bigger the wheel, the less boost you need. Smaller wheel is less mechanical advantage. Thats why stuff with manual steering has huge steering wheels.
Honestly the stock steering is grossly over-boosted if you ask me. Most of it is the steering gear though. It has a weenie torsion bar in there and its just very soft. Later steering boxes are heavier. I have a late model police box in mine, which has the heaviest wheel feel of the bunch. I love it but it involves a bit of creative plumbing and modding to the steering shaft coupler.86 Lincoln Town Car (Galactica).
