How much is it leaking? They all leak there a little bit. Cutting the hose back will probably help you some, especially if you have a new O ring down inside where it seals against the hose, but its likely never going to be totally air-tight. Thats part of why the air spring setup was a better idea. The solenoids held the air at the bag, the drier and the plumbing didn't have to be perfectly sealed.

So that's why my car leans to the right... I thought the system held pressure so if either bag leaked the system wouldn't work. Lately my car's compressor started working again, guess it's possessed. Because of this it leans when loaded though.

        Update.

So I cut the hose right past the rib nice and square,

FYI the diameter had a small diff .183-.184 after the rib and .181-.183 before the rib.

I even put an extra o ring before on top of the other one and under the washer (this gave les play in the brass collar the "gripped" THE HOSE INTO THE DRIER

it held up nice, but when I s[rayed it with soapy water, now both ends of the drier were leaking (maybe worked too good???) At least the leak is A LOT slower now!

SO I called it a night. I could wait another week or two for another drier unit, but not im starting to think is it even better just to get a new compressor and drier unit????

If you have a 90s car, each bag holds it's own air, but they both fill and vent at the same time. An extreme leak on one will basically prevent both from filling, but a slow leak will let just one side bleed down. On an 80s model, the air supply is common to both sides with no isolation. A leak in one shock will bleed both down. If the car leans, its usually because you've got a bad coil spring, often in the front.

Not sure a new compressor/drier will do much better for you honestly. If you have new O rings in there, thats really all you can do for it. They're not perfectly air-tight, it just has to hold enough that the compressor can overcome any leaks without running excessively.

That's what it is doing. It leaks enough that the compressor kicks on every few seconds to maintain air on those shocks. I pumped it up around 9pm last night, by the time I left for work in the morning around 5, right back down again.

I know for at least the drier, I can clean one end of it and maybe use another o ring to go between the drier and compressor, but as for the hose end, I think there is too much play in that brass fitting that grips. All I know is that adding that other o ring on the hose side of the drier helped out with the leak. I believe that by doing that it cut down on the play between the brass collar and drier

So I believe a likely fix would be this.

Go pro with Protier. 1992-2011 FORD CROWN VICTORIA Suspension Air Compressor Drier. 2003-2011 LINCOLN TOWN CAR Suspension Air Compressor Drier. 1990-1997 LINCOLN TOWN CAR Suspension Air Compressor Drier.

Would this fit on my car (89 townie), it's saying it doesn't but it looks like it might

No. You'd probably be able to mount it somewhere and use it but there goes the factory look/resale value.

I'm not seeing any possibility of a loss resale value simply because the air compressor drier looks a little bit different. The line comes out of the side on that one as opposed to out of the middle of the top on the stock one.

When I put the new air springs in my '01 I got my new Arnott drier from Oreilly's, not sure if they list one for '80's cars or not. The one for my car was $50 and it only took them a day to get it

Unfortunately, we don't have O'Reily's in NJ.

I think the source of my problem is either the orange ring and/or the brass collar
