The ends of the hose get bitched up, and the O-ring tends to take a set after a while too. Honestly I'd replace it while its out. They're like 10 cents.

Sounds like someone has been in yours before. There should be a large O ring under where it unscrews. Any I've had apart had a large and very obvious O ring right inside. The spring to keep the dessicant packed in is also fairly standard, unless your drier has something else in place that keeps the beads packed into their area rather than just floating loose.

O ring should sit right down inside the compressor where the drier goes in. On both my original '86 part, the donor '87 parts that I rebuilt mine from, and the '92 one I have, if you pull the drier out the O ring is right there. It won't make any air without it. Air just pushes around the drier and vents.

I will have to look more carefully for the O-ring, but I am pretty sure I have no spring in there.

As for the small O-ring behind the washer, you wouldn't happen to know what size it is would ya?

Also, between the dryer and compressor, where would that O-ring set in place? Because of it's sideways mounting I would have to put some grease to hold it in place when I put it I, right?

don't know the sizes. Thought they were mentioned in that article I linked, but any time I've needed one its always been a case of taking the old one with me to size it up.

I can gt the small sizes, but I don't know if home depot or lowes might have the larger o ring that closes the dryer togethr

Also, do I really need the spring? I don't have one. What can I sub it for?

It's too bad my dumbass didn't read this thread sooner, I was around four box TC's this past weekend and could've already pulled your stuff. Wasn't paying attention to air ride stuff so there might not be any parts to be had but I'll have myself a peek-a-loo when we go junkin' the following week.

So, I managed to fix the dryer where the dryer meets the compressor. However it still leaks between the blue air line and dryer. When I push down on the blue air line into the dryer, it goes away.

I changed the O-rings, but it still does it. Is this part the culrit>

or is that rib on the blue hose hindering it from being inserted all the way.

the blue line looks like it may just be too worn where the clip fits on it.

Right, what I was going to do is cut beyond where the rib is on the hose (the bigger diameter part of the hose) so that way it looks fresh.

Other then that, I don't know what to do.

Is there suppose to be free play on the brass collar????

typically those will be a bitch and a half to get onto the hose because they're JUST a little smaller ID than the OD of the hose, but it makes for good retention. It should be nice and snug on the hose, but may be loose in the dryer. This is all if it works the way I'm thinking it does. I have never taken one of these apart, so I could be talking out of my ass.

Once the blue line is inserted, it should be held tight. If you're not pushing on the ring part, you shouldn't be able to pull the line out. The groove in the blue line is probably the issue. Subject to confirmation by others, my suggestion would be: 1. cut the blue line where the groove is, 2. cut the same amount off of the black protective covering without messing up the blue line, and 3. carefully remove the rib from the blue line. If you actually have a long enough line, and if a precision measuring device tells you the blue line is the same O.D. on both sides of the rib, you might as well cut the rib right off and then remove a sufficient amount of the black covering.

You know what, it never dawned on my that there could be two different diameters before and after the rib.

In addition, yes, once it's in(the blue line), there is I would say maybe an 1/8 inch free play that the coupled blue hose makes with the dryer
