16 inch Police wheels on an 85 GM

I have a set of 2002 or 2003 (I think) 16 inch GM wheels off a police car.
Will they work on my 85 GM colony park.. is the back spacing right?

if it's off a 2002, they should fit fine. If it's off a 2003, no.

Yep - the newer ones that don't fit are pretty obviously flat-offset compared to the older 'dished' wheels.
If they look like they have 'dish' like your current wheels, they will work.

with fat enough spacers they work, but screw that if you have an option about it. Steelies are too cheap to spend money on spacers to make them fit.

Yep, those will fit, no spacers required. Have a set on my '87.

You'll need collared lugnuts to properly fit center caps.

Max tire width with 16 inch wheels is 265. If you're not using the car in winter, consider some high performance (or ultra max performance, whatever they call them) summer tires.

Just running the 225-60-16's got the new rubber..... should have them on today. ordered caps off ebay. Hub caps of coursse I had to order a new set of lug nuts . Life goes on.

Still working on the CFI to Carb work too. Just installed a new timing chain. Should have the water pump and intake on today. Had to order bungs for the Lincoln logs. Going to just plug them with O2 sensors for the moment. Still haven't got around to the wiring.

Those in your link are definitely not P71 caps... they are explorer/ranger caps (they have the rounded edges).
The tall p71 caps are more square on the sides. Those will work though, so if you like em, keep em. If not, eBay will let you return them at no charge, even if the seller doesn't want to, because they are not what they say they are.

So the 17 x 7.5 wheels that I see listed in the JY need spacers? I am in the market for wheels and I see a lot of the 17" wheels around here; not too many of the 16" wheels.

Yes, you will need spacers as those are offset to fit the re-engineered chassis (03+).

Also, you will need non-hubcentric spacers for the fronts to fit the bigger box era front hub.
