Cuz for what im doin the 4 link in the 80s is a better setup for lowriding. and itll be plated on all 4 sides with 1/4" so there is absolutly NO flex when hopping and 3 wheelin so i wont buckle a quarter panel or anything

I'd backhalf it then. You can't get anything for the old frames, and most are rotted anyway. The closest thing would be a 97, that might have the same bodymount locations and still uses the old triangulated 4 link.

The 90s have the weak lookin UCAs and the front brakes are way too big to fit the 13" wire wheels. n i already know i can get a 80s frame a lot eeasier. so all i need to know is, are they swapable?

Well my buddy got a rust free 97 parts car (85linc on here doin the 4.6 swap) and i know i could get that frame off him, n im thinkin i could swap the upper control arm mounts so i can have the old 80s style uppers

Why? The upper arms are better, you can use them for big brakes.

Because the newer style upper control arms i cant reinforce so they dont bend from hopping, and with the bigger brakes i cant fit the 13" wire wheels

I am pretty sure you can just swap the older brakes onto the newer frame up to 02 for the wheels to fit, 14's anyway. Go check out www.layitlow.com a few guys have done it on newer town cars and marquis.

You could also have a shop build you some custom upper control arms if your worried about strength. Also I believe if your really wanting 13's once you get the smaller brakes on a small spacer or a little grinding on the caliper will allow 13's to clear the brakes.

2 bolts. That's what hold it to the frame.

The bushings are the same on the upper and lowers old and new, same mounting points and spacing......easy to bolt the stuff on....That's how we bolt the new arms on the old cars....

As for the rear arms, Easy to fab new ones or reinforce the stock ones if you think about it. Could also easily use rod ends and tie rod tubes.

Lowrider, eh? So an entirely different set of considerations than street performance. The default assumption is usually that anyone modifying a vehicle is doing it with street performance in mind.

Good thought. Boxes could be had with 14s for a few years, but more doubtful whether a normal-offset 13" wheel would fit.

Do you remember what wheel dimensions "351m" is using? I don't recall anything about him modifying calipers, but that might have been because lowrider projects annoy me.

Yup a lowrider. street performance is cool but i like to be the odd man out n build lowriders. i got a 87 chrysler 5th avenue with hydraulics and a 74 dodge dart sport that im buildin up 70s old school lowrider. we use 13x7" reverse offset so they have like no backspacing, just gotta grind the a lil off the head of the caliper bolts

I don't know what reverse offset means in a practical sense, but if it's effectively zero backspacing, sounds like you shouldn't have much trouble. Maybe negative backspacing would allow you to use big brakes?

Reverse wheels are negitive offset. Yes they may allow 13's to fit. Most knock offs are reverse unless specialy noted.
