    Well... This really sucks.

I went over to get the LTD today to take it up to our Friday night car show, and as I pulled it out of the garage.... My fiance and I notice a HUGE puddle under where the car had been parked.

So, my fiance goes and looks at the fluid on the ground... TRANS FLUID.

Checked the trans fluid in the car... bone dry.

Every last drop leaked out since the last time I parked it (2 weeks ago).

    The pan is soaked.

So, I guess the gasket there just went bad all of the sudden?

Going to try some stop leak, and if that doesn't remedy the problem, I guess we'll be replacing the gasket.

This sucks. Glad we noticed it though instead of just pulling away thinking everything was cool.

+1 no stop leak ever. Since it's empty already go ahead and drop thepan and slap a new gasket on there. Then fill it up. Also check the tranny fluid when the car is warm idleing in park.

Its not hard job to do the gasket like 11mm bolts take em all out the fluid already leaked, inspect the pan rail and pan for damage and cracks spray the pan down and wipe it out, try to get a nice gasket a step up from your run of the mill, just ask the autoparts dod for the premium stuff, slap the gasket in and bolt the pan up top off your fluid look for leaks and check it when warm.

replace the gasket, skip the stopleak. Mine has gone from a slow leak to hemmoraging fluid in the couple months its been sitting. There is a small lake of trans fluid under it currently, most of which appears to be dumping out of the pan. The gaskets shrink up from disuse and start barfing fluid all over the place. Not uncommon, just messy as hell.
