hahaha, I was just at harbor freight the other day... poor guy ahead of me in line took 15 minutes filling out the paper work for his new trailer tires. When I asked the reason, the reply was that all this was mandated (nationally? or just in MD? I don't know) after the firestone "ford exploders," so that they can get in touch with anyone who bought any tire, in case there's another recall like that.

why do you say air is getting into the ps lines again? is it whining at start up? is it not steering smoothly? is the resevior full? im not familiar with the history of your problem but it intrigues me as to how or why you think you are getting air in the lines.....1996 Mercury Grand Marquis - duals, PI cams, PI intake, J-Mod, MZT, BOC tune, 3.55s, 18in wheels

if air is getting it, it would be because fluid is getting out. Did you have a look for leaks? They might have left something loose or crossed some fitting threads..Pete ::::>>> resident LED addict and CFI defector LED bulb replacements

if you take the cap off when it is running are there bubbles or not? it doesnt sounds like are to me. are wouldnt be making a metal on metal noise, also, if anything air should be bleeding out over time, not getting in.1996 Mercury Grand Marquis - duals, PI cams, PI intake, J-Mod, MZT, BOC tune, 3.55s, 18in wheels

Ford pumps get noisy with age, especially if they've been run dry. Use a turkey baster to suck some fluid out and replace it with some Lucas power steering snot. If the fluid isn't red, then it probably ought to be flushed out and replaced with Type F. If the system was refilled with PS fluid, then it really ought to be replaced with the correct stuff. Ford pumps get noisy with the wrong fluid.
And no, PS problems will not make the car shake. Bad tires will. More than 5 years old and they're due for replacement.86 Lincoln Town Car (Galactica).

yeah, small vacuum leaks in the system. Probably one of the check valves isn't 100% anymore.86 Lincoln Town Car (Galactica).

you definately need new tires but hey just for future reference whenever i have a tire off i roll it across a flat surface and 99% of the time if it has a busted or shifted belt it will have a bump in its roll or a little wobble. but you have to roll it sort of fast.My wife and I.sigpic
