    Which Wheels?

Due to some bad luck right now I have mix+match wheels on my car at the moment.

I have the steel wheels (and hubcaps) on the front and the aluminum towncar wheels on the back.

I need to have 4 mount+balances done....as I want to have the blackwalls facing out.

I like both styles, but for different reasons.

The wheel covers on the steellies are shinier and much easier to clean.
I like the deep-dish of the aluminum wheels, but hate cleaning them.

    Opinions?

Alloys look good on the LX models. Stick with the TC rims.

I despise full wheel covers, so aluminums. Or steels with trim rings and center caps. =-)

              HPPs would be nice.

Out of the 2 choices, definitely the TC wheels, Andy.

                Thanks for the input guys.

I guess I was feeling nostalgic or something. I always did like the wheel covers though.
My father-in-law picked the lincoln wheels up for cheap....they weren't what I was planning on, but they do look good.

Oh, and I weighed them. The aluminum wheels/tires are 5 lbs+ lighter a piece that the steel wheels/tires (and wheel covers)

As I understand it for every pound of rotational mass added it's like adding 7 lbs of wieght to the car.

So 5x4=20 lbs (I'm being generous it's really more)
                20x7=140........

Now I realize I don't have a performance car, but still, that's got to make a difference in both performance and fuel mileage.

The TC wheels look better, stick with them.......blackwalls out.

My 91 CV originally came with factory wire wheel looking hubcaps.

I took them off and went with the police car dog dish look and body color

painted wheels. I've been happy with this choice but lately the idea of using

late model Mustang wheels has begun to interest me, just wolndering if I'll

need spacers? probably.... yes? But what size?

1/2" spacers if I remember right. That is one (but not the only) reason I don't run Mark VII wheels (same off-set as mustang I think).

Thanks for the info, I figured those Mustang wheels wouldn't be bolt and play. I do know of a CV in the junkyard with spacers still on the wheels, I'm going to check them out. But still not sure I'll make the swap unless I can find Mustang wheels that are practically free. The dog dishes are still a nice
no nonsense look, and I never have to worry about them being stolen.

what about these wheels? Any good? hard to find? not worth it? cheap junk? won't fit a 91 for some reason?

Those wheels are a direct bolt-on (no spacer needed). I personally wouldn't pay that price as my local J/Y only carges $70 a pair for aluminum wheels.

I had actually wanted some of the "deer-hoof" style wheels that came on 90's rangers/explorers.
....But the but the deal I got on the TC wheels was just too good to pass up.
