Applied rear PI sway bar puchased here

And, my MGM rides like a modern car.

Never had one before on the rear, just the front stock sway bar.

However, I did this all on my back in the street without any lifts or stands.
Went to ACE hardware, and purchased Type8 7/16 3" bolts with lock washers.
Used the bushings Bowman sent along too.

I have calibrated torque rachet, yet could only torque 60Ft-lb while on my back.
The factory service manual said between 50~90FP.

We'll see how they stay.

Hey mang, what would you say the greatest advantage is of fitting a rear sway bar? does it reduce body roll in corners etc.. I've been trying to find an old box with a sway bar and hardware at the junkers for a long time now with no success.

edit: I haven't checked but do ford put the mounting holes on the rear arms for the sway bar on a model that wasn't originally ordered with one? or would I have to measure and drill holes?

I believe up to '92 the control arms for the rear chassis, have the bolt holes factory drilled, and take the 2-bolt per arm pattern.

Some car have both holes for the sway bar some don't... its odd

I can tell you my 91 CV didn't come with a rear bar and it wasn't drilled either.

But I've seen plenty in the junkyard with them, in all sizes!!!!

I just have to get up the desire to drill the holes or do even more parts

ive got one on my car id be willing to get rid of. shipping wouldnt be cheap due to the size and they are not light. i even have a set of boxed control arms for it
