Im going to the junk yard to pull another 8.8 rear end with discs. My plan is to have a limited slip carrier and 3.73's put in along with a rebuild. That will help me with not having to find a rear end with particular gears and/or LS. It will be replacing my old 1982 rear end. My question is, How much wider are the 90's rear end compared to the old one? Also, Would it be better to find a disc brake set up with the rubber hoses?

Ok, good to know. I meant should I pull a rear end that used the hoses, so I can use that year make and model to order new hoses, calipers, rotors, and such. Lincolmania's link to his "rear disc brake swap" shows and speaks about two types of brake line/hose setups. Which one is better. Also, I dont want the rear end to be any wider. This will cause tire clearance problems. Will the rear disc brakes from a newer rear end swap on to an 80"s rear end?? I know you have to pull the axles to remove the drum brake setup, but what about the rear end with the disc brakes. Do you have to pull the axles to removed the disc set up?
