    84 rustang rear

Would the rear end from an 84 rustang be of any use? Is it 8.8? I have a mustang to get parts from if I want em...it's cfi so the motor/trans/fuel system is useless to me. The guy got it for the price of towing it there and needed like two interior pieces.

If it has the stock rear end it will be of no use for you as those were 7.5 rears.

When did they switch over to 8.8" rear ends in the Mustangs?

Also, even if it was an 8.8" they're way too narrow to use in a Panther. The only thing you'd be able to use is the differential (ring gear, pinion, carrier) itself.

I'll probably check it out anyway, he said the car is just sitting in his yard on blocks like 5 minutes away from work (I actually pass it on the way there heh) I might be able to score some other stuff. Can't hurt to look I guess

1986 was the year the 5.0 mustang got the 8.8 (4-cyl cars still kept the 7.5 I believe).
