Now they are not necessary since our fenders are big enough to fit a very large tire under, but it will cut down on 60' times since the car isn't wasting as much energy squatting.
I was still able to pull a 1.8 60' on a mostly stock rear suspension, just Carrera circle track shocks, 97 PI springs in the rear with boxed control arms and a PI bar, was also running a 150#'s worth or rear wheel and tire.
